Hello clients and visitors to this website.   I have decided to suspend tax preparation services for the 2011 filing season because I can no longer afford to offer the very low rates I have in the past.   I have always believed that having one’s taxes prepared should not be an additional financial burden.   Yet at the same time, tax law has become so difficult that many individuals need assistance to properly file.   I look forward to a rewrite of the tax laws to ensure that the average person can complete this task simply on their own.  The tax code originally was a simple two page document; it now exceeds 17,000 pages.   I urge you to give your support to all congressional representatives seriously focused on both simplifying and improving equality in the Federal Tax Code. 

I want to thank all of my clients who have honored me by allowing me to prepare their taxes over the years.   Besides having the opportunity to prepare your taxes I had the additional enjoyment of getting to know you on a personal level.   I will be continuing to receive emails via info@jhughestaxprep.com  for clients that may need information from prior years.   This email service will be disconnected after April 15, 2012.    I wish all of you the best in the coming year.
